Don’t stop at the profile pic, though. LinkedIn also gives you the opportunity to add a banner to your page. This is a larger image that reflects your company’s personality. Banner ads are used ubiquitously in online advertising because of their ability to speak to your potential audience. Profile pics are common and expected, so it is your profile banner that really gives you the opportunity to make your company stand out and grab attention.

It’s also not a terrible idea to change your banner from time to time so people who may have overlooked you or forgotten about you are encouraged to take another peek.

  1. “About Us”

Once you’ve snagged someone’s eye with your cool pic and banner, you don’t have much time to tell them who you are and why they need to stick around. Use the About Us page to give a quick and interesting summary of who you are and how you can help them.

Let them know where you are located, what you can offer them, your mission and how they can get in touch. Try to make the voice of your About Us blurb match your company’s personality.

  1. Complete Your Page

It’s tempting to just do the top stuff and leave out the little details, but complete pages get more views and visits than incomplete ones. LinkedIn will tell you exactly how complete your page is and what you have to do to get to 100 percent, so do it! If it’s a hassle, pay someone to do it, but get it done!
